A New York State trooper from Monroe was arrested for criminal sex acts.
Matthew Stivala, 32, was charged with several crimes, including criminal sex abuse and forcible touching.
The charges stem from multiple incidents involving him and a victim. Police say he and the victim knew each other.
Stivala was arrested in the town of Monroe, arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail, in lieu of a $75,000 cash bail.
He's scheduled to reappear in the Village of Harriman court on Wednesday.
Stivala is currently assigned to State Police Troop T.
