It’s Election Day in New York City, and polls are open 9 p.m. across the five boroughs.
More than 735,000 New Yorkers have already voted early, marking one of the highest early turnouts in city history — about five times higher than the last mayoral race in 2021.
At the top of the ballot: the race for mayor. Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, Republican Curtis Sliwa, and former governor Andrew Cuomo, who’s running as an Independent, are all hoping to lead the city for the next four years.
Voters are also deciding on other key citywide offices — including comptroller, public advocate, borough presidents, and city council seats. Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is seeking another term against Republican Gonzalo Duran and Independent Marty Dolan.
And don’t forget the six ballot proposals on the back of your ballot. They cover everything from fast-tracking affordable housing projects to moving local elections to presidential years to boost voter turnout.
If you’re planning to vote, remember — polls close at 9 p.m., and if you’re in line by then, you can still cast your ballot.
