A high school principal in Newburgh has now resigned after they were suspended for problems with last year’s Regents exams.
Edgar Glascott stepped down from his role as co-principal at Newburgh Free Academy, according to district sources.
Glascott was one of two administrators suspended in June when teachers complained they weren’t given proper instructions on how to administer the Regents exams.
Assistant Principal Katiana Simon was also suspended.
Glascott previously resigned from Poughkeepsie after similar accusations in 2013.
News 12 reached out to Glascott and the Newburgh district for comment but hasn’t heard back.
Some Newburgh students are retaking portions of the Regents exam next week.
