The snow may have stopped falling, but the trees have not.

City sources say they've received hundreds of reports of damaged trees across the city. News 12 crews were in Midwood, Park Slope and Bed-Stuy at the site of multiple fallen trees.

A tree came down in Park Slope blocking the sidewalk on 9th Street. People like Elektra say it could have ended differently.

“Someone could have gotten really hurt," said Elektra.

Omar Walker in Bed-Stuy says fallen branches are normally a concern on his block without the snow. He says they tried to get ahead of it, claiming he asked the city for resources before the storm.

“This is a life safety issue just because we've got lots of schools on the block. We have day cares on the block, seniors on the block and people in churches. And we woke up this morning to find tons of dead branches on this block. It could have injured or killed people," said Walker.

City sources say they have crews working tirelessly across the city to pick up the debris. You can report fallen trees to 311 or in the case of an emergency you can call 9-1-1.
