A Brownsville high school received a makeover Saturday, thanks to students and volunteers who pitched in.
Volunteers from the nonprofit New York Cares are joining students from the Brooklyn Democracy Academy for their "Painting the Town Turquoise" event.
The group is painting three classrooms turquoise, which they say will help students learn and feel like they're in a warm environment.
Volunteers told News 12 that they will be back in January to paint six more classrooms and the hallway.
