A Bronx nonprofit donated laptops Thursday to a local public school after thieves made off with computers over the summer.
The organization Per Scholas, which aims to improve access to computers and laptops to low-income residents, donated 30 laptops to P.S. 7. Students and the principal say they are grateful.
About 90 computers and equipment worth $100,000 were stolen from the Kingsbridge Avenue school in August. Police are working on leads and say they were no signs of forced entry. Only a handful of people have access to school keys and alarm codes, according to the principal.
Per Scholas plans to work with the school to replace more of the equipment.
