The nurses union has reached a tentative agreement with New York Presbyterian.
The announcement came after six weeks on the picket line. The hospital and New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) are set to vote on the new contracts this weekend. If approved, the nurses could return to work by next week.
The proposed three-year deal includes stronger staffing standards, protections for health benefits and safeguards against workplace violence.
In a statement, NY Presbyterian says that they are pleased with reaching a tentative agreement but that “the settlement is still subject to ratification.”
Nurses from Montefiore Medical Center and Mount Sinai hospitals had already returned to work on Valentine’s Day following their contract agreement.
