Gov. Kathy Hochul announced a campaign aimed at informing New Yorkers of the services and resources available to crime victims and their families.
The 12-week campaign looks to reach underserved communities and those impacted by an increase in reported hate crimes.
The program will cater to those groups using Facebook, Instagram, Google and iHeart Radio among others. It begins Aug. 7 and runs until Oct. 29.
According to officials, funding for the awareness campaign is available through the Federal Victims of Crime Act and has no impact on funding for victim assistance programs or compensation and reimbursement.
