The New York Giants honored a Morris County man at Sunday’s game.

John Radits, 89, is a Korean War veteran, and has held Giants season tickets for 61 years. He has been following the team since their days playing at Yankees Stadium.

“They went to Shea Stadium for a year and then went up to the Yale Bowl for two years, then they opened the stadium over [in New Jersey.]” Radits says. “The players have gotten bigger and faster and, especially, I think, the receivers have improved.”

The Giants honored Radits on Sunday. He and his family were invited onto the field for the pre-game tradition of ringing the opening bell – alongside a special Giants Hall of Fame guest.

“I met Harry Carson and we rang the bell,” Radits says. “Great feeling, especially seeing Harry in person.”

Radits says that he won’t be regularly attending Giants games any longer. He is passing along his lower-level season tickets to his family.

"My daughter and my one grandson, they're very big Giants fans,” he says.

The Giants defeated the Carolina Panthers 19-16 at the game. Radits say that if this was his last game in person, it was a great one to watch.
