Students of the game showed out in Crown Heights on Friday to join the New York Liberty for a basketball clinic.
One hundred youths joined the WNBA team to participate in the New York Liberty Season of Giving Community Clinic to show off their skills while learning building blocks of the game from the pros.
“Basketball is like therapy, I just love playing basketball,” said 11-year-old Bronx kid Jazleene Young, one of the 100 kids participating in the clinic.
The New York Liberty say they are committed to drawing in young people with this free opportunity and even brought in Ellie the Elephant, the Liberty’s mascot for the clinic.
