New York state is offering a new way to help immigrants learn English.
The program uses phone calls and text messages to teach English.
Those who sign up have to call a number whenever they want to hear recorded lessons.
Participants are asked questions that can be answered via text message to show they understand what they are being taught.
Once they get the questions right, they can move on to the next one.
If they answer wrong, a coach will call to help clear things up.
