It's been one year since New York State began a crackdown on distracted driving and officials say more than 20,000 tickets have been issued during that time.
According to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's (D-NY) Office, police issued four times as many tickets for texting behind the wheel, compared to the previous year, after it became a primary offense last July.
In Brooklyn, more than 3,200 citations were issued.
