Motorcyclist killed in Bohemia collision

New York State Assemblymember Kenny Burgos announced his resignation Friday.

In a statement, Burgos says, "the decision comes after heartfelt discussions with his wife as we prepare for the joys and challenges of our expanding family and open a new chapter in our lives."

Burgos spent his tenure serving the 85th State Assembly District of New York, and helped bring new affordable housing to the area and criminal justice reform.

Burgos first took office in 2021.
