Three strikes is all one local lawmaker wants to give some unsanitary grocery stores in Brooklyn. Rat droppings, urine and gnaw marks on food are just some of the health violations reported in unsanitary grocery stores. New York State Senator Jeff Klein (D-BX/WC) says three Brooklyn supermarkets have made the list of the worst city food stores in a report entitled ?The Dirty Dozen 2005.? The report says mouse droppings were found inside LR Fruits and Vegetables grocery store on Ditmas Avenue. The study also found rodent infestations at Genesis Grocery on Fulton Street and Rockaway Food Corp. on Rockaway Parkway. According to Klein?s findings, nearly 160 supermarkets citywide failed three or more consecutive inspections. He wants to pass legislation that would force supermarkets with more than three consecutive inspections failures to close down
