Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city is allocating $43 million for improvements for Haffen Park in the Bronx

Speaker of the Assembly Carl Heastie and City Council Member Kevin Riley have both grown up near the park. They say this is a full-circle moment.

"When I got elected to City Council, I made it my mission to upgrade the park,” Riley says. “Growing up in the community, the park has always looked the same.”

Haffen Park contains many amenities, including a pool, a basketball court and a jungle gym area.

Riley and Heastie say residents should decide what improvements they want to see in the park and they encourage residents to reach out to them.
