Officials announced Monday the Health and Affordability Resource Team, a group in New York City to help people keep their Medicaid coverage.

Community health workers will work with local groups to help New Yorkers enroll in health coverage, access food assistance and cash benefits, get housing support and find relief for their hospital bills.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani says the team is meant to help up to 900,000 people at risk of losing coverage as new work requirements go into effect next year.

Officials say $3 million is going into the new program.
