This Halloween, NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi received a treat worth more than $6 million that is said to help support the care of all Bronx residents.
Signing over the hefty check Tuesday, NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams joined Bronx council members Marjorie Velasquez, Rafael Salamanca and hospital executives outside of the Level 1 Trauma Center. Officials say the investment will go toward pediatric cardiology, upgrades to the dental department, and according to Chris Mastromano, CEO of Jacobi Hospital, "state of the art care, increased turnaround times, and faster treatment."
This is the second big check that the City Council has written out to Jacobi in the past year. In 2022, they received $10 million. Mastromano says the continued support helps Jacobi bring a better health care system to all New Yorkers in need.
