New York City Councilman Vincent Gentile is expected to make a proposal about service on the MTA's R train.
Gentile says he has received hundreds of complaints from R line riders who say the train is repeatedly late and very overcrowded. He says there are constant delays, inadequate audio systems and dirty stations.
The councilman says he has already sent a letter to the MTA detailing his proposal for the changes he would like made.
He says he wants an audit done of the R train. But says the MTA responded by saying it does not have the resources since it is already doing an audit for the A and C lines.
News 12 reached out to the MTA, but no one was immediately available for comment.
