Nine years after it was closed, a Brooklyn park is one step closer to reopening.
BAM Park in Fort Greene was closed due to unstable grounds, but Andrew Kalish, of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, says the city plans to fix the foundation and reopen the green space.
"This is going to be the Lincoln Center of Brooklyn," says Kalish.
Kalish says with the help from the city, they plan to funnel $2 million into revitalizing the Lafayette Avenue park. He calls the project "a fantastic opportunity" for an area he says is one of the fastest growing in the city.
The design process has not yet started. There was no timeframe on when construction would begin.
