New updates to the NYC Ferry are set to provide a faster trip to Wall Street next month.
Officials for the NYC Ferry say an upcoming modified schedule will make the ferry more time-competitive with other public transit options during the morning commute.
Following this update next month, ferries starting in Bay Ridge will only stop at Atlantic Avenue and Brooklyn Bridge Park, before heading straight to Wall Street and Pier 11.
Ferries starting in Sunset Park and Brooklyn Army Terminal will make two stops at Governor’s Island and Red Hook, before getting to lower Manhattan.
This update, called the Faster Connections Pilot, will ensure there will be one less ferry during the morning rush hour starting March 8.
NYC Ferry says they will be evaluating performance and customer satisfaction to determine whether to make the changes permanent.
