A hospital in East Flatbush is expanding the way they care for patients with the opening of a brand new neuroscience center.
The center will treat people of all ages in the heart of Brooklyn with conditions that affect their nervous system.
“Patients aren’t going from pillar to post trying to figure out and coordinate their care,” said CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Sheldon McLeod. “It’s paramount to the care they would receive at any facility in Manhattan.”
The center has nine clinical services, like adult neurology and an epilepsy center.
“This is where our patients are. This is where the need is,” said Ali Sader, chief of neurosurgery at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. “We have all the required specialties that provide the services.”
The center has already begun taking appointments, and it hopes to bring more specialized care to those in Brooklyn that need it without forcing them to leave their home borough.
