The Mamdani administration announced the newly-inaugurated mayor signed multiple executive orders not long after his inauguration ceremony.
The first executive order signed is said to revoke all prior executive orders issued before Sept. 26, 2024, while reissuing prior executive orders Mamdani's administration feels are "central to delivering continued service, excellence, and value-driven leadership."
A second executive order establishes five deputy mayors and who Mamdani has appointed to these roles:
Dean Fuleihan as First Deputy Mayor
Leila Bozorg as Deputy Mayor of Housing and Planning
Julia Su as Deputy Mayor of Economic Justice
Julia Kerson as Deputy Mayor of Operations
Helen Arteaga as Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services
