Thousands of New York registered nurses could be going on strike as a start to their new year, demanding better working conditions and patient care.
Sixteen thousand New York nurses plan to strike in a few days across eight hospitals throughout the city. Some say they've been trying to negotiate new contracts with their management.
Nurses say if changes aren't made, they will be going on a 10-day strike, starting Monday, Jan. 9.
Registered nurses from eight different hospitals say they're understaffed and that harms themselves and their patients.
