309ds agoThe New York City Racial Justice Commission is set to release a report of key findings after a round of public input on how to dismantle structural and institutional racism.
This is the first report that is set to be released by the NYC Racial Justice Commission since its formation in March 2021.
The committee had a two-year mandate to identify examples of structural racism and find ways to root it out. It has 11 commissioners, which can propose amendments to the New York City Charter.
They took recommendations from the public through virtual and in-person sessions in every borough – which will culminate in ballot measures that you may be able to see in the November 2022 election.
The committee says this is just an introduction of their report and will be releasing it in full on Thursday.
