New Metropolitan Transportation Authority figures show that train delays have increased over the past two years.
According to MTA statistics, the delays went up 44 percent. The MTA cites riders holding the doors open as the number one reason for delays.
The MTA also blames some of the delays on sick straphangers. According to statistics, the amount of sick riders delaying trains rose from 409 to 591.
Signal trouble was also cited by the MTA as a reason for delays.
