Primary day is here and there are several big races voters will get the chance to participate in today.
The polls opened at 6 a.m. and voters will find a number of races to vote for, including one for governor.
On the Democratic ballot, there are three choices for gubernatorial candidate: the current New York state Gov. Kathy Hochul, Long Island Congressman Tom Suozzi, and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.
On the Republican ballot, four choices will be seen: Rep. Lee Zeldin, businessman and the son of immigrants, Harry Wilson, Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and Rob Astorino, the former Westchester County executive who ran for governor in 2014.
New Yorkers will also cast their votes for assembly members and judgeships Tuesday. Voters News 12 spoke with say they hope for change and that one of the things they’re looking for from the candidates is how they’ll make New York safer.
Polls will stay open until 9 p.m. It is also the last day to get your absentee ballot in either postmarked by today or dropped off by today.
