The NYPD says a shooting in the Port Morris section of the Bronx killed one woman and injured two others on Monday.
Police say a white BMW was driving down East 137th Street toward Cypress Avenue around 4 p.m. when shots were fired from the car. Three people were hit by those bullets. Authorities say Gloria Ortiz, 39, was shot in the head and pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals Lincoln.
The other two people hit by bullets were a 23-year-old and a 32-year-old. Both men were hit in the back and are in stable condition.
Sources tell News 12 that one of the men hit in the drive-by shooting is a known gang member. It is unknown if he was the intended target.
No arrests have been made at this point, and the investigation is ongoing. The shooting happened just hours after a 41-year-old man was killed in University Heights Monday.
