The NYPD says an 11-year-old fell off the G train at around 10 a.m. on Monday.
Witnesses told police they saw the young boy on the southbound platform when he fell.
Parents told News 12 they always remind their children about the dangers of subway surfing.
“I mean it’s horrifying and it’s every parent's worst nightmare," Eva Pinkley, of Carroll Gardens. "But it very much is a thing right now in many, many middle schools. I feel so horrible for that child.”
The MTA says it has a public service campaign against the popular social media trend called "ride inside, stay alive.
