Police say a 17-year-old boy was shot in the stomach near the Major Owens Health and Wellness Community Center Tuesday night on Bedford Avenue.

The teenager was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive.

The suspect fled the scene and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is still ongoing.
