A 19-year-old man is dead after getting stabbed in Brownsville Thursday night, police say.

Officers say the stabbing happened after 9 p.m. on Rockaway and Lott avenues. According to police, they found Vernon Douglas, 19, of Brooklyn, unresponsive with a stab wound to the chest.

He was taken to an area hospital where he later died. No arrests have been made and that investigation is ongoing.

No word on the suspect at this time.
