Police say a 19-year-old man was fatally shot early Tuesday morning in Canarsie.
According to the NYPD, Christian Montrose was shot in the mouth and torso on East 104th Street near the intersection with Avenue K at around 2:40 a.m.
Christian Montrose was the second-youngest of seven kids in the family and his family spoke with News 12 about how they are spending their day reminiscing on the fond memories they shared with him, like a packed Thanksgiving table.
“My son was a good son, the only reason my son left was because a friend called him to pick him up from work, which he always does. He goes and picks up his friend because they don’t have a car," said Amanda Montrose, Christian's mother. "And then he came home, he pulled up in front of the house, and somebody drove by and shot my son for no reason. I just want to know why. I want to know why. Please somebody tell me why. Somebody tell me why. That’s all I want to know. Please.”
Authorities say they are looking for a black sedan, but there's no suspect description or arrest at this time.
