Police say two men were sent to an area hospital and arrested following a knife fight Sunday afternoon in Sunset Park. Police say a 46-year-old man was slashed in the face and hand, and a 27-year-old was wounded in the arm just after 2 p.m. at 46th Street and 9th Avenue, in front of the Bnai Israel of Linden Heights Temple. Both men were taken to Maimonides Hospitalin stable condition. Charges were pending for both as of Sunday night. A knife was also recovered from the scene, as police say multiple other persons of interest were taken into custody in connection to the incident. The extremely graphic scene was witnessed by children who were leaving that temple, according to one of it's members who spoke to News 12, expressing shock at the incident. "The children, theywere leaving, and they saw the police and they blocked off the road," said Alex Herskovic. "I saw a man bleeding from his hand, his fingers and he was arrested." Herskovic also told News 12 he is worried about his safety as he is often opens and closes the temple early in the morning alone. This is something he is now reconsidering. "It is very real, and you see this...anything could happen. It is not a good feeling," he said.
