NYPD: 2 men killed in separate Bronx shootings

According to NYPD statistics, there have been 35 shooting incidents along with 56 victims just in the last week.

The NYPD said two men were killed in two separate shootings that occurred Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.
Investigators said the first shooting in Melrose happened before 2 p.m. on East 156th street between Melrose and Elton avenues.
The NYPD confirmed that two men in a grey SUV fired multiple shots at the victim who was riding a scooter.
Detectives say 19-year-old Melvin Urena was hit in the head.
He was taken to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead.
When a News 12 crew arrived at the scene, the NYPD did have a person in custody, but it was not clear as to whether they were connected to the shooting.
Later in the afternoon, police say 37-year-old Victor Fertides was killed in Highbridge after being shot twice in the torso and once in his right leg.
The shooting happened before 2:30 p.m. at 1404 Ogden Ave.
