Police say a 2-month-old infant died after being found unconscious in a Brownsville apartment on Friday.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to the apartment at 275 Mother Gaston Blvd. at around 8:30 a.m.

Officials say they discovered scalding-hot water in the apartment and burns on the baby.

One source says that the parents are not home, and that that they have another child who is 2 years old.

“It’s heartbreaking cause I have a baby I have kids, too and it’s crazy,” said Brownsville resident Eli Vega.

Police say no arrests have been made at this time.
