Police say a man was stabbed to death on the J train Tuesday night in Williamsburg.

According to police, a man was stabbed in the chest at around 8 p.m. Tuesday night when a northbound J train was approaching the Marcy Avenue and Broadway station. The 36-year-old man who was stabbed was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police believe it all started with an argument between the victim and a male suspect, who is now in custody.

Police say they initially had two persons of interest, a man and a woman, but the woman has since been released while charges are pending against the man.

No arrests have been made at this time.
