NYPD: 20-year-old shot in East New York Thursday afternoon

The victim was shot twice - once in his right wrist and another time in his pelvis, according to authorities.

The NYPD says a 20-year-old was shot by a man in East New York Thursday afternoon.


Authorities told News 12 they received a 911 call after 4 p.m.


Officers, along with health care professionals, arrived at 13 Malta St.

They say the found the 20-year-old with gunshot wounds across the street.

Officials say he was shot once in his right wrist and then in his pelvis.

EMT workers rushed him to Brookdale Hospital where he's still recovering.

Officers told News 12 the suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and grey sweatpants.

Caution tape and NYPD presence surrounded the three buildings where the shooting could have happened.
