A 52-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car in Dyker Heights, police say.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8 p.m. at the intersection of 13th and Bay Ridge avenues.
The woman was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where she later died. Police have identified the victim as Xiaohong Chen, a Brooklyn resident.
The community is in mourning and residents tell News 12 that accidents of this nature never happen in their neighborhood.
Police say the driver remained on the scene and that there are no arrests at this time.
