NYPD: 74-year-old man killed in hit-and-run in Bay Ridge

A 74-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run late Wednesday night in Bay Ridge.
The scene unfolded around 9 p.m. at the corner of Bay Ridge Avenue and Ridge Boulevard, outside a deli.
Surveillance video from the area captured the moment a white SUV struck the man as he appeared to be crossing at the intersection. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Police say they received a 911 call shortly after the collision and arrived to find the man lying in the roadway with bodily trauma. He was transported to a hospital but did not survive.
Police have been working to locate the driver involved in the hit-and-run. The area was closed to traffic for several hours as officers conducted their investigation, including using drones to gather evidence.
