The NYPD is launching a crackdown on private sanitation trucks.
It comes after 20 fatal crashes that took place throughout the New York City since 2016.
About 57 tickets were issued in Brooklyn last week after two spot checks revealed a number of violations.
Police will be deployed overnight all week to crack down on these vehicles.
They say almost every truck had a violation from worn-out brakes to lights that didn't work.
They also saw trucks passing through red lights and driving the wrong way.
