NYPD: Brooklyn man in custody following fatal shooting in Queens

A man is now in custody and facing multiple charges after police say he murdered a 26-year-old man in Queens.

A man is now in custody and facing multiple charges after police say he murdered a 26-year-old man in Queens.
Police say Jovan Springer, 29, fired multiple shots at Peter Panthier, 26, back in March of 2022 as the two men were walking in a driveway in Far Rockaway. According to police, Springer shot Panthier on the left side of his neck and head. Panthier was taken to a hospital where he died.
Springer is facing charges such as murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say both men were from Brooklyn.
