Detectives say 43-year-old Tommy Bailey, of Canarsie and his attacker were both onboard a southbound L train Friday evening at around 9 p.m. when they got into a dispute.
Police say the suspect then slashed Bailey in the neck.
Citizen App video captured the moments of police responding to the scene shortly after the stabbing.
Officials said Bailey was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
In a statement, the MTA said that they are providing the NYPD with surveillance video that might help in the investigation.
