The NYPD was at the Farragut Houses Community Center today to get kids ready to head back to school.
Children spent the morning playing basketball and getting to know the community affairs officers in their neighborhood.
They are going over things like bullying and how important it is to treat everyone with respect. Backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out to some of the kids.
The NYPD also signed kids up for Operation Safe Child, which allows parents to enter their child's information in the police system in case they go missing. Officers say it is important for parents to keep tabs on what their children are up to inside and outside of the classroom.
This is the second back-to-school event that the NYPD has held in Brooklyn this week.
