NYPD press conference on the police involved-shooting in Flatbush.

Detectives say the found a man, later identified as 38-year-old Vilmond Jean Baptiste, hiding in the bathtub.

Police say they noticed that he was armed with a knife and asked him numerous times to drop it.

They say a sergeant used a taser on the man but it did not work.

Police say Baptiste advanced toward the officers - and three of them fired numerous times at Baptiste.

Officers then began to render lifesaving measures.

Police say Baptiste was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
