Police arrested 20-year-old man in a shooting that took place on a moving C train in Brooklyn in late November.
Brooklyn resident Alexander Villafana is now facing charges of attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to the NYPD, a 17-year-old boy was allegedly approached by Villafana when a verbal dispute took place. Villafana then displayed a firearm and shot multiple times, striking the 17-year-old and a 57-year-old male bystander on the train.
A court appearance has not yet been set for Villafana.
New York City Transit president Richard Davey says in response to this shooting, hundreds of cameras are being installed every month in subway cars in an effort to make sure anyone committing crimes on trains will be identified, caught, and brought to justice.
