A half-dozen gunshots took a man's life and landed two others in handcuffs on East 56th Street in Old Mill Basin Thursday afternoon.
Police say a 24-year-old Brooklyn man was taken in critical condition to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Another, who may have been shot in the hand, was taken in for questioning. Police were also questioning a third man, but said no arrests had been made as of Thursday night.
Police identified the slain man as Kendell Walcott, of 5510 Avenue O. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
Neighbors say they have not seen such an incident in the area before.
