NYPD: Man shot in Carroll Park dies at hospital; no arrests made

A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso overnight at Carroll Park in Carroll Gardens, the NYPD says.
The shooting happening just before 3 a.m.
Police told News 12 that the victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. One person was in custody.
Residents say the area is kid-friendly.
"It's a wonderful park," said Peter Waldan of Red Hook.
"This is a neighborhood, everybody knows everybody. Everyone feels very safe," added Adam, a Carroll Gardens resident.
Some residents did admit that the park can be dangerous during the nighttime. They also say they are thankful few people were around when the shooting occurred.
“Thank God something like that didn’t happen during the day," said Waldan.
