Police say a man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in Tremont in the Bronx.

Officers responded to a 911 call on the corner of East Tremont and Belmont avenues. They say they found 44-year-old Angel Ortega shot five times in his back.

Ortega was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died.

Authorities say it is not clear what led up to the shooting. They say the suspect is a Black male who was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue sweatpants.
