A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after a car struck him while he was riding his scooter in Bensonhurst Saturday afternoon.

NYPD detectives say a Kia sedan struck the man on 18th Avenue just after 12:30 p.m.

Shortly after the victim was hit, emergency workers rushed him to Maimonides Medical Center, where they said he was being treated for serious injuries.

Witnesses who spoke to News 12 said the incident left them stunned. Many said they hope the young man pulls through after the violent crash.
