A 35-year-old man was shot in the ribcage and a 33-year-old man was slashed in the left temple early Saturday morning, according to police.

Authorities say it happened just after 12:00 a.m. on Newport Street.

Both victims were taken to Brookdale Hospital and are expected to be OK.
