An NYPD officer who is charged with raping a teenage girl in the Bronx, was in an intimate relationship with her, according to police sources.
Ndegnior Kpan, 27, was arrested at his Co-Op City apartment on Nov. 14. Court documents reveal Kpan allegedly had sex with the 15-year-old girl in his apartment on Hunter Avenue sometime between Oct.1 and Oct. 2.
The teen told police that she was inside Kpan's apartment when they got into an argument.
She accused Kpan of being drunk and he told her to leave. When she didn't, he allegedly dragged her out by her ankles that caused rug burns and abrasions to her back and hands.
She was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Kpan pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare of a child on Friday. He was released without bail.
The defense attorney representing Kpan did not respond to News 12's call on Monday afternoon.
Kpan’s online NYPD profile reveals he was on “extended leave” at the time of his arrest. It's not clear why he was on extended leave.
Kpan has been with the NYPD since July 2024 and assigned to the miliary and extended leave desk as of February 2025.
He is due back in court on Dec. 15.
